Her strategic foresight has positioned Polygon Research as a trusted partner for lenders, investors, non-profits and fintechs navigating an AI-driven market.

Val’s career spans high-impact roles at Bank of America, Citibank, and ShoreBank, where she drove innovation in strategic partnerships and consumer banking. A recognized thought leader, she co-authored the "Data and AI in Housing Finance" course, equipping over 1,400 Fannie Mae Future Housing Leaders with cutting-edge knowledge. With an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and certifications as a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) and CMCP, Val blends analytical rigor with business acumen to shape the industry’s future.

Val keeps her creative edge sharp through fine art painting, a fuel for thinking outside the box. Her commitment to cultural impact extends to founding ROSSCA, a non-profit dedicated to restoring sacred spaces in her native Bulgaria. Val’s personal mission is to create lasting value, whether through transformative data insights, artistic expression, or cultural preservation.

Greg Oliven is the Chief Technology Officer at Polygon Research, where he spearheads the software, cloud, and data science teams with a relentless commitment to innovation and excellence. Greg is the driving force behind Polygon’s mission to transform complex data into actionable insights, empowering clients to achieve competitive advantage and redefine their success.

Under Greg’s leadership, Polygon Research delivers cutting-edge solutions that guide clients through a virtuous cycle: leveraging data-driven insights to unlock new opportunities, streamline operations, and foster sustainable growth. Known for his strategic vision and hands-on expertise, Greg ensures that every product and client engagement reflects the highest standards of quality and impact. A graduate of Cornell University with a BA and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business with an MBA, Greg combines technical acumen with business insight to navigate the evolving landscape of technology. Beyond the boardroom, Greg is an avid reader of sci-fi fiction and stays active by playing basketball every Saturday morning.
